On Saturday 30th May 2020, Tony’s DJ Marathon took place from 9am-9pm he was playing vinyl records to raise money for MDVS from his dining room whilst live on Twitch. He managed to raise a whopping £2254!
When we asked Tony why he decided to raise money for us he stated: ‘I think that what you do for victims of domestic violence is very important. I just wanted to raise awareness of that to people who might not know the good work you do. There are women in my life who have been affected by domestic violence, but their stories are not mine to tell and I wouldn’t like to speak for them. I’m aware that domestic violence is more prevalent than a lot of people would like to acknowledge. Hopefully my small effort at raising awareness and your tremendous work can affect some change in men’s behaviour. I think that it is very important as a man in a privileged position to speak out against domestic violence and to not allow the work to be left to women.’
