How to get in touch

Our phoneline

If you’re concerned about someone you care about and think they might be in an unhealthy or abusive relationship, we’re here to listen.

Our confidential phoneline offers a safe space to talk things through. Whether you’re unsure what’s going on or you just don’t know what to do next, our team can help you explore what support might be helpful, both for the person you’re worried about and for yourself.

We provide practical information and guidance for adults (aged 16+) who are worried about someone else. Supporting someone experiencing domestic abuse can feel isolating, especially if you’re carrying the worry on your own. That’s why we focus on giving you time and space to talk, ask questions and think through your options.

You’re in control of what you share. We won’t ask you to give names or identifying information and we’ll never pressure you to say more than you feel comfortable with. We don’t tell you what to do instead, we help you explore safe, realistic ways you might be able to support the person you’re worried about.

Our service is confidential. While we may ask for some details to better understand your situation, you can remain completely anonymous if you choose. We’ll also explain our confidentiality and safeguarding policies when you get in touch.

Please note that our phoneline is not staffed 24/7. Our main hours are Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, but we can arrange to speak with you outside of these times, including weekends.

If you’d like us to call you back, just leave a voicemail with your name, number and preferred time or use our contact form and a member of the MDVS team will be in touch within two working days.

Important: MDVS is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, please call 999.
