Social Diversity
MDVS aim to reflect both the racial diversity and sexual diversity of the services users and communities within which we provide our services. We also work to give an equal chance and opportunity to work with us to anyone with a disability (seen or unseen), a mental health issue or who may have suffered disadvantage for who they are in the past. We work to do this in a number of ways:
- Know the community …
- Be accessible to culture and different abilities …
- Ensure our staff and volunteers have the support and training they need
- Celebrate diversity
- Listening to cultural differences and the impact these have on recognising and support victims
- Being open, honest and accountable for our services and seeking support and guidance when we need it
- Educating our staff and learning from the people we work with so our approach is dynamic and open to learning
