MDVS Successful in gaining £200,000 grant from the Home Office for male perpetrator work

For information only; This project is currently closed as funding has now ceased;

MDVS have been successful in attaining a large grant to expand their work with male perpetrators. The £200,000 will allow us to work with ‘convicted’ as well as ‘non-convicted’ males across Liverpool and St Helens.

The service will be developed as a fully integrated services and will be delivered in partnership with ‘Change Grow Live’ (CGL in St Helens). This means that as multi practitioners we can support men to address the underlying causes of their abuse. These may be things such as alcoholism, drug abuse, gambling addictions or emotional difficulties.

This service is much needed across areas with increasing incidences of domestic abuse. The charity will create 9 new roles with the overall services being led by a Domestic Abuse Reduction Co-Ordinator working across the city region to ensure delivery is smooth and outcomes are achieved and we start to see the successes of a project such as this.

The programme is called MALES ACTIVELY SEEKING CHANGE (MASC) and will be delivered as a six month intervention programme from various venues across Liverpool and St Helens. We have all options of support available to us through the partnership we have developed with CGL.
